|Match: Old Doms lost by 102 runs|
Well this is one of the few 20/20 away matches for the Doms with a visit to the high scoring ground at Richmond Hill the home of our chums in cricket the Sportsman boys.
Sadly the Doms couldn't scrape together 11 players for reasons to frustrating to mention so Raj the Sportman skipper found a couple of spare players and luckily Greg Hope from the Boars lives just up the road and made his maiden Old Doms start. That still left the Doms with only 10 players but who should turn up but Dave Moore offering to help out, really great effort to support the Doms. So the Doms had 11 players.
Skipper Martin lost the toss again calling tails. He really needs more 'coin calling nets'.. Luckily the Sportsman chose to bat first else there was the prospect of being in the pub before 7:30.
Its always difficult to bowl and keep the runs down particularly when the opposition bat all the way down at the Richmond Hill ground. Balls were flying to the short boundaries with extreme regularity. Ali and Hussian putting on a quick 43 before Ali was caught by Hussain off Morris. Chris Walder rode his luck and held the innings together with a 40 ball 74no and 'swing at anything' Raj Bansi clonked 6 6's in a 39no to take the hosts score to 208-5.
The Doms started the chase by loosing 4 wickets for 15 runs in 4 overs. The match as a contest was over by that time and it left Morris 46no and 21 from Wright to ensure the Doms weren't embarrassed with the Doms 20 overs concluding at 106-7, a 102 run thumping.
Its was a game played in good spirit and honours even for the season with 1 win each. Its always good to play the Sportsman boys as you know they will always give you a hard game and played in a friendly manner.
Its was good to see a couple of injured/retired players turn up to watch and lend a hand with the running of the match, well done those men.
Man of the Match: Steve Morris for his 46no and a wicket.
Drops: 4. Hope 1, Procter 1 and Wright a flaying 2.
