Bharat Pariva CC 82ao in 15.2 overs
|Match: Old Doms won by 6wks|
Well after a week long struggle to get 11 players out for the penultimate 20/20 of the season we turn up with 12 which included sleepy head Banners who put himself out to make an 11, thankfully Banners graciously stepped down to catch up on his sleep.
The visitors were Bharat Pariva CC based in Solihull who we met earlier in the season and recorded an 8 wicket mid week win.
Skipper Martin failed to toss correctly and the visitors decided to bat. Hunt opened up hill and tested skipper Martins keeping skills by spraying the ball around, meanwhile James Hewitt had the easier task of trundling in down hill. The openers got off to a flying start with 26 being posted off the first two overs.
The score raced along until Freddy Fallows was introduced into the attack and wickets started to tumble. Fallows bowled a deadly spell uphill as he cut through the visitors line up. The first to go was Satish K out to a great catch by another @Boarscricket academy player Dean Ashton for 10. Next was Hamza somehow stumped by the keeper followed by the other opener Satish P. The visitors were now 3-54 off 5 overs.
Fallows spell continued, trapping Nair plumb in front and completing his fifer with another top catch by Ashton. Fallows had ripped the Barat innings apart and ended his spell with a match winning 5-17. A top performance.
There was still work to do but Henry Marshall another Bromsgrove young star cleaned up with a 16 ball spell ending with figures of 2-2.
The Doms young bowlers of Fallows and Marshall taking 7 wickets between them for 19 runs. Top talent. Both were supported with some fine catches by Ashton and Hickin in restricting the chase for the Doms batsmen to 83 to win.
Hickin and Hope opened and settled in building a platform, at times it looked pedestrian with only 26 being scored off the first 32 balls. Hope was first to go being bowled by Sharma for a 28 ball 23 which included an impressive two all run 3's. Perhaps he should have hit the ball harder? Doms 1-40 in 7th.
Procter's recent form deserted him and was soon walking back after scoring 1. This introduced Ashton into the run chase and soon the score board was whizzing around as he raced to 21 off just 12 balls before somehow he was bowled by Shama!
It was left to Hickin and Fallows to get the Doms past the 82 needed with Fallows clipping one off his hips for four to see the Doms home by 6 wickets. Hickin a solid 31 runs holding the chase together.
A really top class all round performance with bat, ball and fielding led by the Bromsgrove CC boys Fallows, Ashton and Marshall, three great players who will go onto much better things I'm sure.
MoM: No doubt it has to be Fallows for his cheeky 5-17.
Drops: 2. Martin and Ashton one each.
