Match: Old Doms lost by 32 runs

Sadly only the Doms innings was recorded so this will be a truncated report.

The Doms were playing the first 20/20 match of the season over at Barnt Green (top pitch). Great evening for a game of cricket, blue skies and warm sunshine. The Doms welcomed back the Moore boys Sammy and Dave, really good to see them after a seasons absence.

With all the usual captains unable to play through operations, err a back problem, work and girl friend 'issues' Last was the only person left to captain, wicket keep, take the money, do the book and tidy the visitors changing room up after the rest had departed. The broom up his arse obviously came in handy.

The Doms won the toss and elected to chase. It was one of those odd games where each player bowled 2 overs, no LBW's and retire out when a batsman get 25 runs. The report becomes a bit sketchy given the absence of the hosts innings. From memory the bowling wasn't to bad and Steve Hazledon caught a couple and Stevie Martin dropped a sitter. The hosts made 152 for about 7 wickets.

After the break between innings. Martin and Adie opened and soon got the score board moving. Disaster struck when Adie going for a quick single took a tumble over the bowler and retired injured with a 'dodgy' shoulder. 34-1 off 4. Sammy Moore joined Martin who was nearing his 25 and retire mark when he was needlessly ran out. Awful to watch. 2-78 off 8. Sammy got to his 25 and rested whilst Stato fiddled around with Manoj getting the score up to 103 before the latter was caught out when Stiley caught a blinder for 13.

With Stato next out to an awful shot the rest of the batsmen tried hard to chase down the 153 needed but some good bowling saw the team innings end on 122-9

So a 32 run defeat, to make matter worse the club house was closed!

Man of the Match: Sammy Moore.

Drops - Steve Martin and Manoj.
