Match: Old Doms won by 6wks

Another 20/20 orange ball slog, tonight opponents were Whitehill Wanderers CC from Barnt Green. A cloudy dull evening for the Doms to try to get back to winning ways. The Doms win the toss and decide to bowl first on a nice flat wicket in the centre of the square.

Lada and Pedro opened the bowling, Ladha starting with 3 wides and Pedro's first three balls going for 4's. The Wanderers openers, particularly Clarke hit the ball hard to all parts of the ground as the score raced along to 55 in the 8th over when Dolly  took a splendid running diving catch of Pedro's final ball to dismiss the dangerous Clarke for 41. 1-55.

Clarke and Last took the next set of overs. In 14th over Last temped a Stiley drive and Chicken made a slick stumping and Stiley was gone for 21. The visitors now 2-98 off 14 overs. The next 6 balls from Last saw 2 further wickets fall, Perry and Chicken taking simple catches with the score 4-106 off 16.

The visitors tried to press of but the bowling and support was tight and wickets fell quickly with Tank and Ladha picking up wickets as the visitors chase to set a big score petered out and closed on 7-124.

So 125 to win, the Doms had stumble this season chasing such scores but the Hickin brothers set off at a good pace moving the score onto 42 off 6 before Dolly was caught out for 13 followed quickly by Smaylen (1) and Chicken for a good 29, the latter playing an awful shot and hitting his wickets. The Doms were wobbling at 3-51 off 11.

Tank came and blasted a useful 15 before he skied the ball, another awful shot. 4-71. Then the calm heads of Collins and Morris chipped away and without being troubled or needing to play rash shots got the Doms to the 125 required with no further losses.

A good all-round performance by the Doms and the 6 wicket win margin was about right. It was also good to see Hodgy walk to the ground to watch the team play when he was unable to play. He's setting the standard for non players...

Man of the Match - Dolly for a cracking catch. Top stuff.

Dropped catches: 3- Dolly,  A Perry and Kman- one each    Running total 58
