Well the final 20/20 was upon us, Old Westies were the visitors and the Doms had yet more new players plus a couple brought out of the shadows, yes Phil Walshe and Stato were wearing whites again...we also welcomed back Alex Rich who had been away developing a 'relationship' for his first Doms match of the season.

Well it had rained but the wicket was covered and rock hard and the outfield zippy and skiddy as it could be. The Westies had some new faces but as always it would be a competitive match. We all hoped the rain would keep away as the Westie boys are prone to going missing at the fall of any spots of rain !

The Westies got off the a blistering start with Evans and Stock making most of the excellent batting track and blisteringly fast outfield. Boundaries and quick runs kept the run rate at around 10 an over.

Alex Rich got the first wicket, a good catch by stand in keeper Hodgy sending Stock back for a good 23. Stato and Rich kept the runs in check with Alex getting his second with another good catch  by old timer Morris. Then the pair combined to give Stato a wicket. The runs fell below 10 an over and after 19 the Westies were on 4-165, but then the 20th over bowled by James Brookes went for 31 which made the Westies score look more respectable at 196-4.

So the Doms chase was on, not so quick as the Westies, but solid. Sadly Perry went first, stumped, yes stumped. Whoever can remember Perry moving out of his crease to hit the ball ? 1-28 off 5.

The wickets fell quickly, Walsh 10, Josh 3 and Kman 0. The Doms were struggling at 4-33 off 7. But Stato and Hodgy got a good partnership going and the chirping of the Westie boys started to be silenced as the runs flowed. Sadly Stato was out caught for 20 with the score on 5-101. But as the darkness engulfed the ground Hodgy blitz's the bowling all around the park but it was now getting dangerous and the captains called it to a halt with Hodgy on 77no. A draw was a fair result given the conditions.

Player of the Match: Hodgy  - 77 no

Dropped Catches: Non Running Total -41
